Close to the hotel.
Close to the owner.
Refuge was built on a simple belief: growth should never dilute the relationship.
Intentionally boutique.
Refuge Hospitality is a hotel management, asset management and hospitality advisory company built from an operator's perspective and an owner's point of view.
We chose a boutique model deliberately. It allows us to stay close to the asset, accessible to ownership and personally accountable for the work. Our clients are not handed off after an agreement is signed, and their hotels are not treated as one more line in a large portfolio.
That owner focus does not come at the expense of hospitality. We believe the strongest ownership outcomes are created by hotels that take care of guests, create opportunity for their people and operate with discipline.
Refuge from business as usual.
Scale has value. So does attention. Refuge is designed to provide owners with the expertise expected from an experienced hospitality organization while preserving the access, responsiveness and individual thinking that can disappear inside larger platforms.
Access
Direct communication with senior leadership and the people responsible for the work.
Attention
A strategy built around the individual hotel, its market and the owner's objectives.
Accountability
Clear responsibility for decisions, results and follow-through without unnecessary layers.
Alignment
Owner priorities, hotel performance, guest experience and team culture moving in the same direction.
Stephen V. Bohjalian
Stephen Bohjalian brings more than 30 years of progressive hospitality leadership to Refuge Hospitality. His career has been built inside hotels—from front office leadership and General Manager roles at independent and branded properties to regional operations responsibility across a multi-hotel portfolio.
That operating background is the foundation of Refuge. Stephen created the company to bring the same rigor, urgency and hands-on attention used inside hotel operations directly to ownership—across hotel management, asset management, hospitality consulting and pre-opening technical advisory.
His experience spans brand conversions, ground-up renovations, property rebrands and new-construction oversight, along with long-standing relationships across ownership groups, major hotel brands and third-party management companies.

Hospitality works when everyone matters.
Our owner-centric approach is supported by a people-centric culture. We want every Refuge engagement to create value in three places at once.
Your hotel matters.
